Peabody Essex Museum
The Peabody Essex Museum houses extensive collections and archival materials that derive from traders from Salem, Massachusetts, and elsewhere in the New England area who were operating in the Pacific in the early 19th century. The significance of the museum’s early 19th century Fijian collection is evident in that they have no parallel in any other museum collection in the world.
