Fiji Museum

The Fiji Museum holds the most important collection of Fijian objects in the world.  Archaeological material dating back 3700 years and cultural objects representing Fiji’s indigenous people, as well as other communities that have settled in the island group over the last century, make up the majority of the museum’s collection.

The Fijian Art Research Project will help create stronger links between the Fiji Museum and museums in the United Kingdom, Europe and North America; such information and images garnered from other collections will be a means by which younger Fijians can be encouraged to learn about their history and appreciate its cultural richness.
